What is CASCADE MESH?

Cascade mesh refers to architectural wire mesh that is designed for commercial cascade water features or residential small waterwall fountains. The architectural cascade mesh has to cater to the market requirement for both decorative elements and practical functions.

Functionality of Cascade Mesh

It is a guiding screen of water flow.  The coils and crimps on the wire mesh offer resistance to the water flow and create ripples that are the key factor for commercial decoration.

Production Limits

► Width: Up to 11 meters (11,000 mm / 36 feet)

The widest panel we have produced to date is 11 meters for a domestic project in China, with a height of 4.5 meters (4,500 mm). Since the width corresponds to the direction of the helical wires, which are a single continuous piece and not flexible.

It requires an oversized steel pallet for support, with a plywood case placed on top. Due to this bulky packaging requirement, such dimensions are not suitable for international transportation.

► Height: Up to 30 meters (30,000 mm / 100 feet)

In the height (vertical) direction, the cascade wire mesh is made of a flexible chain-linked structure. This allows it to be retracted and rolled up like a wire mesh roll, making it much more convenient and efficient for transportation.

► Corrosion Resistance

This waterfall wire mesh is manufactured from premium stainless steel wires, typically SS304 or marine-grade SS316. SS316 is well known for its higher nickel and molybdenum content compared to SS304, offering enhanced corrosion resistance, especially in harsh or humid environments. As a result, SS316 is the most popular choice for waterfall mesh applications.

► High Strength

The stainless steel wires used in our mesh have a tensile strength of up to 1100 MPa, providing excellent structural integrity and durability once properly installed.

► One-Way Flexibility

This cascade stainless steel mesh is vertically flexible and can be easily rolled up, making it highly convenient for transportation and installation. This significantly reduces international shipping and handling costs.

► Aesthetic Appeal

Originally designed for interior decoration, this coiled architectural wire mesh was first introduced as metallic curtain drapery. The waterfall version is created by applying an opposite wire orientation, combining functionality with a striking visual effect.

How to Prevent Corrosion by Selecting Suitable Raw Materials for Waterfall Curtain Mesh?

1. Never choose iron steel, carbon steel, or even galvanized steel.

These ferrous architectural mesh materials are highly prone to corrosion when used in exterior applications, let alone in a fountain waterwall setting.

2. Avoid SS201 wire mesh.

Some tight-budget projects tend to go for the lowest-cost option, thinking SS201 is “good enough.”

However, the SS201 mesh curtain is not ideal for humid outdoor environments. Corrosion or surface staining can ruin the entire visual appeal of your beautiful water feature.

3. SS304 stainless steel mesh is acceptable for water flow, but not recommended for coastal cities, high-polluted areas, or other harsher environments.

The wise decision is always to choose marine-grade SS316 water curtain mesh. Its enhanced corrosion resistance ensures long-term performance and aesthetics.

4. Always make sure what you get is what you paid for.
